How it works
Joining a CSA is like subscribing to a farm. You subscribe by paying upfront for a three-month session. During that session, you pick up a weekly share of produce at our pick-up location at The Historic Y. Near the end of a session, you can renew your subscription for the next session. We do not take subscriptions for a session once that session has started.
If you are interested in becoming part of the Tucson CSA, we strongly recommend that you browse through our website as well as visit the CSA during pick-up hours, so you can gather enough information and make an informed decision about joining or not. CSA is not for everyone.
Sessions
Spring session: March, April, May (13 weeks)
Summer session: June, July, August (13 weeks)
Fall session: September, October, November (13 weeks)
Winter session: December, January, February (12 weeks) (note: there is no pickup between Christmas and New Year)
What’s in a share?
Because the type and quantity of produce included in a share varies weekly and seasonally, it is difficult to describe precisely what is in a share. If you’re considering joining the CSA, do drop by during pick-up hours to get an idea of what shares consist of.
How to join
Prospective members: if you have never been a member of the Tucson CSA, you must first join our wait list. During the two weeks preceding a new CSA session, invitations to subscribe to the CSA will be-mailed to waitlisted members in the order in which they joined the wait list. If we fill up before we get to your name on the wait list, you will be notified and kept on the wait list for the following session.
When you have decided that you would like to join the Tucson CSA, the first thing to do is to add yourself to our Wait List (you can do so via this website, under Join > Wait List).
Current and former members: If you are subscribed to the current session, you are a current member. If you are not subscribed to the current session but were subscribed to the CSA in a former session, you are a former member. In either case, you do not need to join the wait list. You can simply subscribe/re-subscribe during the first two weeks of the month preceding a new CSA session. During that time, the contract form will be available on our website (under Join > Subscriptions). Just download the contract, print it, complete it and mail it to us with your payment.
